Not Left to Chance is an experiment.  Using this free blogging service as a Research Management System (RMS) I follow a number of lines of thought always working toward a theory of revolutionary consciousness. The main consciousness in question, for me, of course, is my own, but I'm working on a desire for a revolutionary consciousness-in-communication that is multiple and possible. That means I'm hoping to create some dialogue with other radicals, revolutionaries, fellow travellers, boat rockers, hell raisers and all-round shit disturbers.

The RMS thing is a bit of a joke. I read in chunks, and I'm hoping that by tagging my posts something will eventually come together. It's a work(amateur work, literally a labour of love)-in-progress.

This blog gets its name from a line in Luhmann's Social Systems. “Education, by contrast, uses the reduction of communication to action to attain something that presupposes coordinating a plurality of efforts, something that cannot be left to chance socializing events.” (p. 205)
